Popcorn Chicken (KFC Style)

Ingredients:

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cup white flour
  • 1 tsp cajun seasoning
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp oregano powder
  • pinch of salt
  • 3 small boneless chicken breasts
  • 3/4 cups vegetable oil (or any other frying oil)
  • 2 paper towels

  • Procedure:
    1. Mix flour, cajun seasoning, paprika, pepper, oregano and salt in a mixing bowl and mix well.
    2. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs.
    3. Cut chicken breasts in small pieces  from about a 1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inch in size.
    4. Pour oil into a small skillet and place on a medium heat. If you have a deep fryer, put it on medium heat.
    5. When the oil is hot, dip pieces of chicken into egg making sure it is covered fully.
    6. Drop chicken pieces into flour mixture, fully coated.
    7. Drop the chicken into the skillet or fryer slowly, be careful the oil doesn't splatter all over you.
    8. Turn over chicken from time to time until golden brown.
    9. Drain excess oil by placing  in a paper towel.
    10. Serve with your favourite sauce or gravy.
