Puto Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 1/2 cups of flour
- 2 cups white sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 tbsp. baking powder
- 3 tsp. yeast
- 2 cups evaporated milk (substitute with coconut milk or fresh milk)
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 cup melted butter or margarine
- cheddar cheese for toppings
- water for steaming
Method:
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, yeast, butter, milk, egg and water. Mixed thoroughly.
- Pour in mixture into individual cupcake molds just about 3/4 level of the cup.
- Put one piece cubed cheese on top.
- Put the steamer on and water to boil.
- Arrange the molds with mixture in a steamer plate.
- Steam for about 20 minutes.
- Insert a knife inside to check if its ready if the knife comes out clean.
- Remove from mold.
- Serve and enjoy!
